Ronnie was born in Kendal Street in
1955 and lived a few yards from Caldewgate School where he was a pupil. The U Student Accommodation building in Caldewgate was the first home for student Grace, but her association with the area didn't end there!

Sylvia lived and worked in Shaddongate and Caldewgate. Born in 1939 at Duke Street, she attended St Bede's School before working at Carr's Biscuit Factory.
Ellen Carruthers remembers attending St Bedes RC School on Silloth Street and the train line above the playground.
In 1960 Alan moved from Harraby to Shaddongate. The family home was also the business address of his father, F. Pennington Gentleman Hairdresser.

Margaret and Maureen remember fun
and games growing up in Studholmes Lane in the 1940's. From 1952 to 1968, Margaret Ballard (nee Turnbull) lived on Kendal Street, where the family business was Turnbull's Grocery Shop.
Christine and Ann moved from Prospect, West Cumbria with their Mum & Dad who took over the Duke of York Pub in 1968.
